Bermuda lies in the North Atlantic, about 1,070 km off North Carolina. Install a travel eSIM before you fly or sail and switch it on when you arrive. AirOva sells Bermuda plans from $8.49, each with a fixed amount of data, all data only, with no calls, SMS or local phone number. Plans run on One; each plan card names its network and whether it is listed as 4G or 5G.
Bermuda plans come in GB sizes only, with no unlimited option, so pick the amount that matches your stay. Maps, messaging, bus and ferry timetables and the odd video call take little data; streaming and large photo uploads are better saved for hotel Wi-Fi.
Bermuda has three mobile networks: One Communications, Digicel and Paradise Mobile, which is not on our plans. One, the former CellOne, launched Bermuda's first commercial 5G network in late 2023; each plan card shows whether a plan is listed as 4G or 5G. A card may show a network only as the number code 338050, which the ITU lists under Digicel; ask support if that matters.
L.F. Wade International (BDA), Bermuda's only airport, is on St. David's Island in the East End, about 11 km north-east of Hamilton. Large cruise ships usually dock at the Royal Naval Dockyard. UK travel advice says tourists are not allowed to drive cars in Bermuda and recommends buses, ferries and taxis, so data for timetables and maps helps. On arrival, turn off airplane mode, switch the eSIM line on, choose it for mobile data and enable Data Roaming for that line; the plan is prepaid, so roaming adds no charge.
A travel eSIM works on shore networks, in port and near land. Out at sea, many ships run their own cellular network relayed by satellite; your plan does not cover it and its charges are separate, so switch to airplane mode with Wi-Fi on once the ship sails. More in our cruise eSIM guide.
Tip: install the eSIM over Wi-Fi at home before you travel, and keep your home SIM in for bank codes with its data roaming off. If you hire a scooter, set your route before you ride: UK travel advice says accidents between scooters and cars are common.
No SIM shops, no roaming bills.
