MTN and the other operator
A plan card that lists the network as Swazi MTN means MTN Eswatini: Swazi MTN is an earlier name of the operator, which was also known as MTN Swaziland and has operated since 1998. The country's second operator, Eswatini Mobile, started out as Swazi Mobile and won its licence at the end of 2016; it is not on our plans. MTN's geographic coverage has been measured at about 96% of the country; in remote areas, signal can still be weaker.
Arriving at King Mswati III International
King Mswati III International (SHO) in the Lubombo Region opened for service in 2014 and replaced Matsapha as the country's international airport for commercial flights. After landing, turn off airplane mode, switch the eSIM line on, choose it for mobile data and enable Data Roaming for that line; the data is prepaid, so roaming adds no charge. Keep roaming off on your home SIM.
Road trips from South Africa and Mozambique
