St Kitts and Nevis is a country of two islands, about 3 km apart across a channel called The Narrows, and one eSIM covers both. Install it at home and switch it on when you arrive. AirOva sells plans from $9.99, with fixed GB or unlimited data, all on Flow.
GB plans suit most stays: 3–5 GB usually covers a week of maps, messaging and photos. Unlimited plans give unlimited data with no data cap and no fair-usage limit — good for longer stays, remote work or heavy video. All plans are data-only, with no local phone number, so call over WhatsApp or FaceTime.
The country has two main mobile operators, FLOW and Digicel, both running 2G, 3G and 4G. Our plans run on Flow, and each plan card shows whether it is listed as 4G or 5G. FLOW is the Cable & Wireless network once branded LIME and now part of Liberty Latin America. Coverage is extensive in populated areas such as Basseterre and Charlestown but spottier in remote mountain country, like the slopes of Mount Liamuiga (1,156 m) and Nevis Peak (985 m), and between the islands.
Most flights land at Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport (SKB) on St Kitts, which has direct flights from North America and London; Vance W. Amory International (NEV) on Nevis takes smaller inter-island planes. Cruise ships dock at Port Zante in the centre of Basseterre. After arrival, turn off airplane mode, switch the eSIM line on, choose it for mobile data and enable Data Roaming for that line; the plan is prepaid, so roaming adds no charge. Validity starts on the first connection in St Kitts and Nevis.
The passenger ferry from Basseterre to Charlestown takes about 40 minutes and runs several times a day, and the Sea Bridge car ferry crosses The Narrows in about 25 minutes. The same plan works on both islands, though signal can drop mid-channel. Once a cruise ship sails, phones can join its onboard maritime network, which no travel plan covers, so switch to airplane mode with Wi-Fi on — see our guide to eSIMs on cruise ships.
Tip: Install the eSIM at home over Wi-Fi, keep your home SIM in for bank codes with its data roaming off, and download offline maps of both islands before you go — handy for a Mount Liamuiga hike or a day trip to Nevis.
