The easiest way to get online in Seychelles is to install a travel eSIM before you fly and switch it on when you land on Mahé. AirOva sells Seychelles plans from $4.99, each with a fixed amount of data in GB. They are data only, with no call minutes, SMS or local number, and run on Airtel; each plan card shows whether it is listed as 4G or 5G.
Smaller GB plans suit short stays spent on messaging, maps and taxi or ferry bookings. Larger GB plans suit longer island hopping, video calls home and sharing beach photos as you go. There is no unlimited plan for Seychelles, so pick a size with some headroom. If you are combining Seychelles with Mauritius or the Maldives, see our Indian Ocean islands eSIM guide.
Seychelles has two mobile networks, Airtel Seychelles and Cable & Wireless Seychelles; our plans use Airtel. Both cover Mahé and Praslin with reasonable 4G, good enough for navigation and messaging. La Digue is covered as well, but speeds drop noticeably and there are dead zones in the interior and along the less developed southern coast. On the outer islands coverage is patchy or absent, and resorts there usually rely on slow satellite Wi-Fi.
Seychelles International Airport (SEZ) is on Mahé, about 11 km southeast of the capital, Victoria. Install the eSIM over Wi-Fi before you fly. After landing, turn off airplane mode, switch the eSIM line on, choose it for mobile data and enable Data Roaming for that line; the data is prepaid, so roaming adds no charge. Keep roaming off on your home SIM.
Praslin Island Airport (PRI) has scheduled Air Seychelles flights to Mahé. La Digue has no airport: you reach it by ferry, which links its main village, La Passe, with Praslin and Mahé. Your eSIM stays on the same plan across the islands, so there is nothing to change when you hop between them.
Tip: download offline maps of La Digue before you take the ferry, since its interior trails have dead zones. Carry a power bank on beach days, and keep your home SIM in for bank codes with its roaming off.
No SIM shops, no roaming bills.
